Artist Block?
What should I paint???
Age old question, even if I’m motivated to create, what should I create…. And will it matter… And will it be interesting enough for somebody to want to hang in their home?
Wait… What do people hang in their homes?
Spring whispers secrets through the air, and I find myself brimming with motivation. Yet, even in this fervor, inspiration sometimes eludes me. It's a hurdle—a tantalizing, elusive force that dances just beyond my grasp. I yearn to uncover the greatest version of myself, to create beauty that will resonate across the world. My artwork, like an uncharted path, beckons me to ascend to new heights, unseen by even my own eyes.
But how do I become this extreme version of myself? How do I surmount the obstacle of a blank mind, devoid of inspiration? I turn to the universe, beseeching it to fill my mental canvas with anything—an image, a spark, a fleeting muse. I long to wield my pencil, brush, or camera lens with newfound clarity, to elevate my craft as an artist.
And so, I reach into my pocket, retrieving the sleek black glass device—a technological marvel bestowed upon us by a higher power. This electronic conduit connects me to the ether, to you, to everyone. I speak into it, my voice echoing across digital realms. "I crave inspiration," I declare. "I yearn to connect with fellow souls."
In response, A random post would share a simple sentiment: "When I step through my door, keys in hand, I seek warmth and welcome. I desire a reflection—an image that mirrors my essence. Perhaps I am a delicate flower, a graceful butterfly, or something abstract. But within my home, I yearn for comfort, for a mirror version of myself”.
Dumbstruck, I ponder: Can it truly be this straightforward? Have I overlooked the essence of my purpose? All those paintings, sketches, and strokes—have they missed the mark? Perhaps it's time to reevaluate my artistic style, to peel away layers and reveal the authentic core. As I slip the phone back into my pocket, I recognize its role—a bridge to humanity, a conduit for understanding. Alone in this room, I stand, now knowing more than before, and with a new outlook on my creative purpose.
